Simply PDF is a PDF editor for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.
Your documents never leave your device
Every document you open, fill, sign, annotate, redact, scan or combine is stored on your device only. Simply PDF has no server, no account system and no cloud storage. We cannot see your documents, and no one can see them through us.
A document leaves your device only when you send it, whether through the iOS share sheet, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, printing, or any other app you choose. From that point the document is handled by the app or service you picked, under its own privacy policy.
If you back up your device to iCloud or to a computer, your documents are included in that backup like any other file on your device, under Apple's privacy policy. Simply PDF itself never uploads them.
No account, ever
Simply PDF does not ask you to sign up, sign in, or give an email address. There is no profile to create and nothing to delete later.
We collect no usage data
Simply PDF contains no analytics, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework because it does not track you across apps or websites. It collects no data, and that is meant literally.
Text recognition happens on your device
When you scan a document or make a scanned PDF searchable, text recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No image and no recognized text is uploaded anywhere.
Camera and photos
- Camera: used only when you scan a paper document. The images become a PDF on your device.
- Photos: used only if you choose to turn photos into a PDF, place a picture on a page, or import a photograph of a signature. Simply PDF reads only the specific images you pick.
Neither is used for anything else, and neither is transmitted.
Purchases
Simply PDF Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active; we never see your payment details. Purchase records are handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.
This website
trysimplypdf.com is served by Cloudflare and loads nothing from anyone but Cloudflare: its fonts and images come from this site, and the one script from elsewhere is Cloudflare's own visit counter, which sets no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. Cloudflare also keeps the ordinary server logs any host keeps. Both are under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you enter your email address to be told when Simply PDF ships, we store that address and the time you gave it, and nothing else. We use it to send that one email and then delete it. If you would rather not wait for that, ask us to remove it at support@trysimplypdf.com and it goes immediately. To limit abuse, the form keeps a count of new sign-ups for each network address, not linked to your email, and deletes it within two hours.
Children
Simply PDF is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version appears at this address with a new date at the top.

Simple Software is responsible for this policy. Write to support@trysimplypdf.com with any question about it, including a request to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Because the app keeps everything on your device, the only thing we can hold is a waitlist address, and that is deleted once the one email it exists for has been sent.
